  • Description
Tricolor is a game of pure strategy - 47 stackable checkers in three colors are placed on the hexagonal board with fields in different colours. Different colours mean different 'strength' for the checkers - the aim is to eliminate all opponents checkers from the board. The game was invented by the famous Belge mathematician Maurice Kraitchik who described it for the first time in his book La Mathematique des Jeux (Brussels 1930) on page VII-VIII (introduction) and 470-475 (rules, example games). It is one of the oldest stacking games (older are just Tower of Hanoi, Lasca and Bashni). - BoardGameGeek
